Spotters,
We await word from NWS HFO this evening as to whether or not the Skywarn HAM network of operators is activated for this high wind and flooding event.
I had not received any word which prompted me to reach out to Sheana and Dennis, the two meteorologists who control Skywarn and Skywarn HAM. They are off shift. I plan on checking with them upon their return this evening.
The Warning Coordination Meteorologist, John Bravendar, is not in the office today.
Joe, AH6T, is setting up HF Watch Nets.
I encourage all operators to pay close attention to this unfolding event.
Stay safe and do not endanger yourself by operating in an unsafe environment.
Review Severe Weather Report (SWR) criteria.
Timing of impacts may change between now and when they hit.
